Go All-In Be a Winner

Born An All-In Gamer

Like it or not we are designated players in the game of life. It is about who we are and why we are here. The game is for our spirit and soul’s destination.  We are born to play the game.

Matthew 28:

17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with youFund Raising Letter November 20151 always, to the very end of the age.” (Bolding and underling mine)

Translation: Simply share Jesus.

For Becky and me it has been a challenging season of life. We were prodded throughout the year by the words of Matthew 28 above and of King David in Psalm 144

4   Man is like a breath; his days are like a fleeting shadow.

Since January, we have experienced the passing of a number of family, friends, classmates and associates through aging, illness, accident, and suicide. In June my mother passed at age 98. I struggled to wrap my mind around something I had not experienced in 68 years: a day without my mother on earth. All these deaths ignited fond memories, loss, love, and regrets bringing wounds and peripheral relationships to the forefront. Resentments festered amidst commitments to forgive. The useless “should have, could have, and if only do-overs” raced through our minds. We were thankfully convicted . . . again . . . to surrender to a higher authority and calling.

With this finality of life before us, we were flooded with the Truth that nothing matters but a relationship with God through Jesus Christ the Lord . . . not politics, not the economy, not the car we drive, not where we live, nothing of this world. Becky and I are convinced that we have allowed all-in the world to direct our lives too often. So we are back to the beginning . . . simply sharing Jesus for nothing else matters but sharing Jesus.Fund Raising Letter November 20152

Today I was impressed by the Holy Spirit to share Jesus with a man named Clayton. I didn’t. Self-absorbed, I chose to focus on my agenda. Unwilling to tarry, I missed experiencing God and His eternal plan when all I was called to do was simply share Jesus.

It can be hard to remember moment-by-moment what Jesus did for us over 2000 years ago. 2 Peter 3:8 reminds us But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.  He reminds us that while earthly time seems short, the message we carry and the words we speak . . . or don’t speak . . . will echo throughout eternity. If we are speaking and acting as Jesus taught then it impacts others . . . and us. All it requires is simply sharing Jesus. We realize that we will only see all the results of our work in heaven. But the focus must turn from us to Him. We all must remember that a non-believer is as close to heaven today as he / she will ever be unless he / she chooses Jesus. It is critical to simply share Jesus.

Fund Raising Letter November 20153This was also the year of Becky and my 50th high school class reunions. In January I was asked if I would pray for the event as well as offer the opening prayer. Would I also be the Master of Ceremonies? In January I had a conversation with my friend who organized the reunion and we decided together that I would share the gospel. So in mid-September, I rode my Harley from Idaho to Western Colorado to simply share Jesus with those attending the class reunion and their spouses.

Had one considered my rebellious life in high school until I committed my life to Jesus at age 42. I was the most unlikely person to be standing before the class. A former drunk saved by grace over 26 years ago, I have been in public relations, politics, and now ministry as ordained pastor. The difference in this entire eternal equation was / is / will be the divine intervention of Jesus. If one views the reunion from an eternal perspective as I now do, I was predestined from before the foundations of the world to give the Gospel Message / simply share Jesus at the reunion. The time is now considering how fast time is moving. Don’t wait to simply share Jesus with those near and dear along with those who God allows and orchestrates to cross your path today.

Thank you for helping make it possible to simply share Jesus. Your contribution of time, talent, and treasure is critical. We want and need your partnership to continue as Becky and I ache to point others to an all-in relationship with Jesus Christ.

We invite you to read the enclosed “On the Frontlines” about the salvage work in wrecked lives in which you have participated.

Carrying the “Good News” because of Jesus and your partnership,

Jesus prays a prayer of “ALL-IN.” “I am not praying for these alone but also for the future believers who will come to me because of the testimony of these. My prayer for all of them is that they will be of one heart and mind, just as you and I are, Father that just as you are in me and I am in you, so they will be in us, and the world will believe you sent me.” John 17:20-21
